Making It - NBC Promo Art Unlike most people, I hate the drama of reality shows. I've never seen an episode of Big Brother or The Bachelor . I'd much prefer to watch a scripted show. At least in those instances, if something is ever so over the top, you know it was written that way. I also hate to see people argue and bicker, which is another reason I tend to stay away from reality shows. The constant yelling is too much to handle. Now all of that being said, there are a handful of reality shows I will watch. I can't miss Top Chef and Face Off . I love seeing people using their many skills and actually accomplishing something. What's even better, in the last few years on Top Chef , and always on Face Off , the contestants are nice to each other. They help each other out. And there's very little screaming in people's faces. Variety Magazine Jesus Christ Superstar has always been one of my favorites. It was the first musical I ever saw, and has always had a special place in my heart. So when I heard that NBC would be doing a live version, I had mixed feelings.  On one hand, woohoo! There would be a new version to obsess over. On the other hand, NBC has had issues in the past with live musicals. I had high hopes that it would be more Grease Live than Peter Pan Live but I was worried. I'm happy to say that it was - in my book - it was a runaway success from the first chords. It was so completely fantastic! From the scale of the sets, to the performances of the cast, to the live band on stage - everything just worked! I was thrilled to see the inclusion of a live audience, which is exactly what gives Broadway shows their energy in the first place. It's about time that the powers that be realize that. I was expecting a lot from the Sherlock special.  It'd been 2 years since we'd been graced by a new episode of this gorgeous program.  So to say fans were ready for something new, was an understatement. Thankfully, the dynamic duo of writing knew that and they definitely gave us what we desired. It was original and a bit off the wall, and I'm still not sure if I understand it all, but oh my goodness, believe me when I say it was fantastic! When word first broke the extra episode would be set in Victorian times, I was a little skeptical.  What would make it different than any other version of Sherlock Holmes we've seen over the years?  I really should have known that the creative minds had something else in store.   The shock that the Victorian times tied into what had happened in the finale was so very delicious.  No spoilers here, but seeing what they accomplished within the whole Sherlock narrative, is exactly why I love Mark Gatiss and Steven Mof...
