My Story

Hello...

Let's see.  How should I put this?  (This whole, write about yourself thing is really hard, am I right?)

I'm a Marylander who HATES crabs. (too much work for WAY too little food)

I am a cubicle-dwelling Instructional Designer, who gets way too excited about good learning objectives, and great graphics.

I live for really, really good theatre. There's nothing better than seeing a show that touches you in some way. I'm always in search of tickets to shows I've never seen.

I am a bookworm, with a To Be Read pile as tall as I am.

I am a traveler, and love to see new places - though I do spend an inordinate amount of my time traveling to New York, and England. And I'm not going to lie but eating loads of food while traveling, is a major draw.

I'm a city girl through and through.  The country is gorgeous, but give me architecture, and street art any day!

I am a paper-crafter (avidly, sometimes...) obsessed with all things Pinterest and Etsy.

I am a cook and baker completely unlike Martha Stewart (more like Lucille Ball in that episode when she adds too much yeast to her bread...)
I spend days dreaming of living a nice British life in Notting Hill with a nice English bloke (who looks remarkably like Benedict Cumberbatch if you want to be specific).

I take way too many photos with the intention of scrapbooking them all, but I fear that may never happen. I'm slowly learning (we're talking turtle pace here) how to work my big-girl camera but I'm still quite prone to epic photo fails. (Loving it, but really, does there have to be THIS many buttons?)

You could say I'm a bit of a renaissance girl... if any of these things actually qualified me to be a renaissance girl...

About Scrappy Travels

After a few years of cubicle-dwelling I've realized I have no idea what I want to be when I grow up but I do know that I need some creativity in my life.  Hence, this blog.

The goal of Scrappy Travels is to share some thoughts on the shows I find fascinating, the books I can't put down and the places that have taken my breath away - in no particular order. Along the way, I'm sure you'll also hear some tidbits on my social media presence (non-existent...), why food is better than some people, why I'm still searching for my Prince Charming and why I can't watch the news without yelling at the television (seriously, how are we living this reality?)

So if you're a fan of random musings on theatre, books, food, travel and occasionally some excitement, please follow along!
